POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The house manager provides various levels of client support while ensuring that their properties are properly maintained and cared for. They are looking for a unique person that requires the right combination of experience and skill, as well as the ability to communicate well and often. Candidates must have some carpentry skills, a high level of organization, the ability to manage and oversee small projects and the willingness to do routine, less glamorous maintenance. A customer service mindset and a well-developed set of problem solving skills are required for this work.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that the clients’ homes continue to run smoothly, and building and computer systems operate efficiently.
Identify and troubleshoot areas in need of repair in a variety of environments inside and outside the home. Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them.
Ability to run all scopes of a small project.
Conduct walk-throughs with homeowners and subcontractors.
Direct and coordinate outside service providers and subcontractors. Oversee subcontractor progress, performance and quality.
Maintain records of work and create maintenance plans.
Work with team to coordinate and prepare residence for owner-hosted events.
Respond to urgent system issue calls that need resolution quickly. Available by phone 24/7 for unexpected issues that may arise, like alarm and computer system failures.
Ability to travel and oversee minimal projects occasionally outside of the state, 1-2 times per year
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Construction trade or equivalent estate manager experience. 
Ability to maintain high level of discretion and maintain privacy and security of client information.
Excellent communication and customer service skills. Works well with others.
Exposure to and basic knowledge of building methods and construction practices, including rough and finish carpentry, HVAC and electrical systems, plumbing systems, low voltage systems, drainage systems, building envelope and weatherization systems. Ability to perform minor repair, patch and finishing to drywall and other interior finishes.
Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls.
Ability to manage labor and resources to meet agreed upon budget.
Motivated, dependable, and ethical.
Ability to remain calm and composed.
Must be able to pass criminal background check, have a clean driving record, and valid driver’s license.
Proficient with computer software including: Word Processing (MSWord), scheduling (MS Project), and e-mail systems (MS Outlook), MS Excel. Experience using iPhone, Mac OSx and Windows operating systems is a plus. 
Ability to lift and handle normal building materials, and work in crawl spaces as needed
Ability to work occasional overtime.
 
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary range between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
