Nannies

We can provide childcare to meet the varying needs of individual families including live out help, live in help, governesses, tutors, drivers, weekend help, temp help and on call help. Because finding the perfect nanny is a critical decision, we invest the time and resources to find you a nanny best suited for your family. We personally interview the childcare experts, and then with the assistance of a private detective service, we perform thorough background, reference and DMV checks. The total comfort and security of you and your family are of utmost importance to us. Our governesses have formal education and must have a minimum of four years of experience with formal experience with a family. Formal education may include childhood development, child psychology, teaching, nursing, and/or credentials and certification from an established , accredited and highly recognized nanny institution.

The primary responsibility of the Nanny is child care. Typical tasks are:
- Meals for the children
- Teacher or help with homework (tutor)
- Play (small or large motor activities)
- Communication with families and teachers if needed
- Age Appropriate Activites
- Driving to and from school and other activities

- Scheduling (Dr appts, after school activites, etc.)

The housekeeping chores of the Nanny include:
- Organization of Children's rooms and playroom
- Children's laundry
- The kitchen after preparing children's meals
- Leaving the house as clean as it was when the Nanny arrived

The Nanny might offer:
- Family laundry
- The dishwasher
- Vacuuming

- Errand running

A typical live-out work schedule is a 5-day work week, working approximately 40-55 hours per week. Any overtime over 40 hours per week should be compensated at time and a half (1.5 times the nannies hourly rate.) A live-in nanny should be provided with room and board along with an appropriate salary. Usually the live-in nanny works longer hours, so the compensation often is the same, and sometimes more than a live-out salary. This depends on the hours of the position. Live in nannies do not have to be paid for overtime hours, but are entitled to their hourly rate for every hour they work.

All salaries should be discussed and arranged between the nanny and the family. Our agency can help negotiate if need be. The salary should be discussed on a gross basis, and both the employer and the employee should report taxes. We can help you with that service.

Transportation costs should also be discussed, and whether the nanny is to use her car or the family car.

All responsibilities of your position should be mutually agreed upon before a nanny commences employment.

We can provide a Client Caregiver Agreement which lays out any and all expectations from the family for the nanny. Please call us for more details.

If you do not need full time help, please inquire about our The Help Company Club, which is a perfect way to have our babysitters on call on an as needed basis.
