The most generous family on the Peninsula is looking for a full time private chef. This is an amazing opportunity to work for the nicest and most loyal family of 4. The family has had a chef/House Manager who is going to take on the household management duties, which is why the family is looking for a career private chef, who can stay for years and become a part of their family.
The family is not on any specific diet, but they do like to cleanse with weekly vegan menus, vegetarian menus, etc. They also like to have a hearty meal from time to time, so you should have an extensive repertoire of different cuisines and diets. A background in nutrition would be a bonus. Degree from an accredited culinary institute is preferred but not required.
Schedule is Tues-Sat, lunches and dinners. Lunches are more casual, and dinners are formal service. The family entertains once a month, and has larger parties of 100 once a quarter. You will not be responsible for sourcing additional staff, but should know how many waiters, kitchen helpers, etc will be needed for each event.
Salary DOE, $40/hr plus OT & full medical benefits. Typical work week will be Tues-Sat from 1:30pm – 10:30pm. You should be flexible to work an occasional Sunday as needed.
Candidate must have a combined background in restaurants and private homes. Ideal candidate will have worked at a local 5 star restaurant, and has transitioned into private cheffing. Please do not apply if you do not have a minimum of 5 years full time, recent experience working in private homes. You should be very comfortable with working in a home, cooking for nannies, and being able to switch gears at a moments notice.
