Truly incredible laid-back European family with three properties in Oregon is looking for a full-time Chef. The main home is a ranch in La Pine, the second home is on the coast, and the third is in Portland. Eight months of the year are spent on the ranch. The family is comprised of a couple with four children; three boys & one girl. They are from Germany, so a German speaker would be great, but speaking German is not necessary for success in this role. The day typically starts at 9/10am (shopping/prepping), lunch is served at 12:30pm, there’s a “snack” at 3:00pm & dinner is served at 5:30/6:00pm. There’s a Housekeeper who stays for clean-up. There are two Chefs and each must be willing to cover one weekend day. The schedule is not, therefore, M-F. It may be Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday. The vibe is informal and the family eats clean farm-to-table family food — elevated and delicious, but simple. Pay is $150k + a car + full (health/dental/vision) benefits, money for relocation and paid time off. It’s recommended that Chef find an apartment in Bend, Oregon which is twenty minutes from the ranch and is where the food shopping takes place.
We are looking for a fully vaccinated candidate who graduated from culinary school and has private home experience. There are horses, pigs, chickens and other animals on the ranch (Chef has no responsibility for them). It would be nice to find someone animal and certainly kid friendly who does not have a lot of distractions from work. There is a large staff (about 14) so someone who likes working on a team is ideal. Trial days are paid at $600.
