Santa Monica Family Assistant Needed: Kind brilliant and thoughtful professional family in SM is looking to fill a full-time Family Assistant role. The job is roughly 80% general assistance and 20% childcare for two terrific kiddos, ages 9 & 11. The ideal candidate is someone who LOVES working in a household and is willing to share the burden of thinking/planning/executing all that needs to take place in order to keep a busy family running like a well-oiled machine. We are looking for a candidate who genuinely loves children and is as happy to come up with fun activities, i.e. “there’s a cool exhibit at LACMA — let’s go!” OR “it’s a beautiful day — these kids need to run around the beach!” as she is synching family calendars and completing tasks on Asana. In other words — we are looking for someone PROACTIVE across the board. Duties include driving children to school and activities (as the world re-opens), managing the pantry & the marketing — handling online orders & returns, liaising with vendors, keeping track of basic expenses, tackling research projects, cooking simple meals (or at minimum — handling meal prep), doing laundry FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY, pet care for a gorgeous sweet doggie & etc. Parents have demanding jobs and need help holding down the home fort!

Pay is on the books with paid time off and help with health insurance. Flexibility is high on the wish list so candidates should be open to covering the occasional date night or to staying late on an as-needed basis, though the bulk of this job is focused on getting working parents through the work week. It would be a dream to find candidates in or near Santa Monica to cut down on commute.
