Family Assistant

We’re working with a wonderful family located halfway up Malibu Canyon, between Calabasas and Malibu, who is looking to hire a Family Assistant. They have two daughters, ages 8 and 12, who are homeschooled. Their program includes outside math centers and enrichment activities, so there is a fair amount of driving involved, along with a real need for consistent day-to-day structure.

Dad has recently taken on a role in Canada for about a year, and Mom is preparing to launch her own wellness business focused on women. As a result, she’s finding that she truly needs a partner—someone who can support the girls’ daily rhythm and bring thoughtful structure to their home life.

They are a conscious, health-oriented household and value a holistic lifestyle. They are looking for someone they naturally align with who is grounded, mindful, and intentional in how they show up.

Travel flexibility is important, as they would love someone who can join them in Canada as needed, as well as on other trips throughout the year. The girls are relatively self-sufficient, but the role centers on providing high-level support to the home and children, including driving to activities, helping with meals, stocking the home, pet care, and so forth. Travel for up to three weeks at a time is a possibility, and assistance with travel planning would also be appreciated.

The family does not micromanage. They truly value someone who can take initiative, anticipate needs, and take ownership. The ideal candidate is warm, highly organized, proactive, and capable of holding structure while contributing to a calm, well-functioning environment.

There is flexibility around live-in vs. live-out. A private guest house is available for a live-in candidate, though a live-out arrangement works just as well.

Start date is flexible, ideally sometime in June.

Pay is $40–$45 hour DOE, plus a stipend for health insurance and paid time off.
