Carpinteria Assistant House Manager

A private family in Carpinteria is looking for an exceptional Assistant House Manager to work alongside the Estate Manager and help oversee multiple properties. This is a hands-on role for someone who is proactive, resourceful, highly organized, and genuinely enjoys being the person who sees what needs to be done and gets it done.

The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday with flexibility as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set and be comfortable with property maintenance, vendors, household technology, vehicles, guest preparation, events, and basic food preparation. A genuine interest in food and hospitality is important, as is the ability to jump in wherever needed. Experience in private estates, luxury hospitality, property facilities management, construction, ranch operations, or high-end residential environments is strongly preferred.

We’re looking for someone with an “I’ve got it” mentality. Someone hands-on, comfortable with technology, calm when plans change, highly discreet, and excellent at following through. Most importantly, this person needs to take ownership rather than simply point out problems.

This is a full-time position with some schedule flexibility based on family occupancy, guests, events, and occasional property emergencies. Compensation is $130,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience.

Candidates must be local to the Carpinteria Santa Barbara area, have demonstrated longevity in previous positions, a clean background, and excellent references.
