Job Summary:
A private family in Montecito, CA, is seeking a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their household team as a second housekeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, order, and organization across the family’s property, including a main house and a pool house gym. This role requires a commitment to excellence, professionalism, and discretion. The role includes taking direction from the Executive Housekeeper on property and working closely with all team members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning and Sanitizing:
● Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors, as well as polish furniture.
● Deep clean bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, mirrors, and floors.
● Clean kitchen areas: countertops, appliances, sinks, and, if necessary, wash dishes.
● Change and make beds, organize bedroom spaces, and manage bedding.
● Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
● Sweep outdoor patios or entryways as needed.
2. Laundry Management:
● Wash, dry, fold, and organize clothing and linens.
● Iron and press garments as needed.
● Sort laundry by color, fabric type, or family member.
● Ensure proper storage of linens and clothing, and maintain wardrobe organization.
3. Trash and Recycling:
● Empty trash cans, replace liners, and maintain clean disposal areas.
● Sort and dispose of recyclables appropriately.
● Ensure trash collection and disposal adhere to household guidelines. 4. Organizing and Tidying:
● Keep rooms organized, clutter-free, and welcoming.
● Arrange personal items neatly, such as clothes, books, and toys.
● Maintain organized pantry, storage areas, and ensure household supplies are
well-stocked.
5. Restocking Supplies:
● Monitor cleaning supplies and household essentials (e.g., soap, toilet paper).
● Inform the Executive housekeeper when supplies are running low to facilitate timely
restocking.
6. Occasional Specialized Cleaning:
● Perform tasks such as washing walls, cleaning baseboards, and addressing high
surfaces.
● Clean carpets or upholstery as necessary.
● Assist with seasonal or event-based tasks, such as organizing holiday decorations.
7. Pet Care
● Feed, water, and tend to pets as needed.
● Clean pet areas, including litter boxes, bedding, and food bowls.
