NY House Manager

We are looking for a talented and seasoned house manager to help manage 3 apartments and an office in New York City. The principals come and go from this NY compound, and they expect to have it “ready” for occupancy when they are in NYC. There could be construction to oversee, as well as inventory and stocking the home. This is a salaried management position with the work week being Monday through Friday, as well as weekends when there are events. Your primary duties are management of a small housekeeping staff, as well as handling all events that take place in the home. This is a boots on the ground position reporting to two Estate Managers.

You will be responsible for the hiring and training of new staff, managing the staff (of 4) as well as acting as the liaison between the staff and the principals. You will need to vet any necessary vendors, as well as prioritize household projects, plan events, and keep the home running smoothly. When the clients are in town, you will be expected to plan parties, help pack and unpack the Mrs, run local errands, and make sure their stay in NYC is relaxing and wonderful.

Our ideal candidate has hotel and/or estate experience, is hyper-organized, can set a stunning table, has good administrative skills, amazing boundaries, a keen eye for detail, and management experience. This is a position for a true professional: ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years recent, full time experience managing a high end home. We want to find someone who is a great manager, and can keep the staff motivated and working hard!
