We’re looking for a creative and reliable part-time chef to help bring delicious, healthy, and flavorful meals to our wonderful client’s busy household. As a family that values eating clean, protein-heavy meals with a focus on fresh vegetables, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, flavorful dishes with an emphasis on Asian-inspired flavors. This includes creating a weekly Sunday family dinner, along with meal prep for the coming week. We are thinking two days of cooking in person, Sundays for meal prep and family dinner and Tuesdays for more meal prep. Sunday night dinner will be the only meal for the whole family (parents plus 3 kids.) The rest, and most of the cooking, will be meal prep for only the parents who are busy doctors, and need help having fresh and tasty meals they can pull out from the fridge, or easily heat up! (The family nanny handles the children’s meals during the week.)

The ideal candidate will have experience cooking fresh, healthy meals, and a passion for ethnic cuisines like Thai, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, and Ethiopian. You should be comfortable working independently in the kitchen, with the ability to balance flavor and nutrition. Please have at least 3-5 plus years of private chef experience and wonderful references. You will be in charge of coming up with the menu, grocery shopping and cleaning up.

Responsibilities:

Sunday Family Dinner: Prepare a hot, healthy, and satisfying family meal for Sunday evening, ensuring it is ready to serve without requiring much effort from the family.

Meal Prep for the Week: Prepare a few meals for the parents to enjoy throughout the week, focusing on high-protein options with plenty of vegetables, healthy grains, and ethnic-inspired flavors.

Health-Focused Cooking: Develop dishes that are balanced, flavorful, and clean—avoiding heavy oils, fried foods, and overly creamy dishes. The family avoids creamy dairy (except for butter) but is open to coconut milk and lighter dairy options.

Adapt Meals for Kids: As the children are on a protein-focused diet, with a preference for dishes that include rice and a little spice, you’ll need to ensure meals are both kid-friendly and flavorful.

Cooking Preferences: A focus on proteins (chicken, beef, seafood, etc.), rice, and fresh greens with bold flavor combinations (e.g., ginger, lemongrass, curries, and spices).

Dietary Needs: No major dietary restrictions, but be mindful of lactose intolerance (butter is fine in moderation, but avoid heavy dairy).

This position is in-person to ensure meals are prepared fresh and to the family’s preferences. The family also has a Maltipoo puppy, so please love dogs! If you’re ready to bring your culinary skills to a family that values clean, protein-focused eating and diverse flavors, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about healthy, flavorful cooking, with a knack for combining different ethnic flavors. If you love creating meals that not only satisfy but nourish the body, and enjoy working independently in a flexible environment, this could be the perfect fit for you!
