Caregiver for amazing Gentleman with Parkinsons in Brentwood

Wonderful long time client is in need of a strong, kind and experienced caregiver. The Gentleman is 200 pounds, so you must be able to life and help to the bathroom, etc. He lives with his amazing wife and their adult children come to visit often. Please be a great team player and be comfortable working with the other household staff.

AM Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities

Shift: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, (4 Day Schedule: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; OR
5 Day Schedule: Sunday – Thursday)
Arrival: Please arrive 5 minutes early for shift handover.

General Responsibilities

Provide attentive, respectful, and professional care while ensuring the client’s comfort, safety, and daily routine are maintained. Support household needs as required and maintain clear communication during shift changes.

Daily Duties
Morning
Review daily schedule and appointments.
Check and record blood pressure at the start of the shift and continue monitoring hourly.
Assist with breakfast and morning medications.
Offer tea and approved medications supplements as requested.
Encourage short walks if the client feels well.

Meals to Household Support
Assist with meal preparation and cleanup.
Offer rest or quiet activities after lunch.
Perform light housekeeping duties, especially in the kitchen area.
Respect the client’s privacy while remaining available when assistance is needed.

Afternoon to Evening
Assist with personal care and showering if requested.
Administer scheduled medications on time.
Assist with dinner preparation and cleanup.
Encourage reduced liquid intake after dinner if required.
Remain available during evening quiet time and respond promptly when assistance is requested.

End of Shift
Continue monitoring and documentation duties until shift end.
Provide a clear and organized handover to the next caregiver.

Huge bonus if you are tech savvy and can help our client sign into his zoom meetings, and sometimes help with his google calendar!

A former CEO who has lived a full and adventurous life, he remains happy, social, and enjoys connection, activity, and conversation. They are looking for someone cheerful, emotionally intuitive, patient, and experienced with dementia care — someone who brings positive energy, and truly enjoys connecting with people. The role is focused entirely on his well being, engagement, dignity, and happiness. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 11am–9pm with a minimum of 8-hour shifts. Responsibilities include companionship, helping with breakfast and lunch, assistance with showering, walks, light activities such as matching cards or conversation, and supporting a healthy daily routine. No housekeeping, laundry, or heavy cooking is required, they already have cleaning help and they prepare their meals. They would love someone reliable, emotionally mature, and uplifting who understands that dementia comes with both good days and difficult days. Compensation is $55 hour plus benefits, along with the opportunity to work with a warm family who will truly treat you as part of their own. Our client in Los Feliz is being discharged from rehab as early as Thursday of this week (or possibly over the weekend) and is seeking overnight caregiving support.

He will need help seven nights per week, approximately 8:00pm–7:00am, for at least 2–3 weeks, with the possibility of extending longer.

The client sleeps most of the night but may need occasional assistance, such as help getting to the bathroom or light support as needed. This is a calm, low-intensity overnight role.

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in senior care, excellent references and a clean background. Pay is in the $30-$40 hour range, DOE.

• Helping her get dressed and ready for the day
• Light food preparation

Schedule and Structure:

There is no fixed weekly schedule, as the family is building a team of three caregivers who will provide full coverage together. You will be guaranteed full-time hours (40 per week), but shifts may change week to week. The Managers will be thoughtful about your personal life and aim to keep you consistently on either days or nights — not bouncing between both — so you can stay rested and balanced.

He is looking for approximately 40 hours over six days, with the possibility of additional hours depending on how his recovery progresses.

He anticipates needing help for at least the next month, possibly longer. Responsibilities include assisting him around the house, driving to appointments, light grooming support, meal prep, tidying, and general day-to-day assistance.

He is tall and weighs just over 200 lbs, so the caregiver should be comfortable providing physical support as needed. He has a wonderful personality and will pay hourly.
