Darling young family in the Palisades is looking for a full time experienced Nanny/Family Assistant. The girls are 2 and 4 years old. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from roughly 7:00am to 7:00/7:30pm. (This means Nanny gets a three day weekend!) Sometimes Nanny will tag-team with Mom & Dad — sometimes Nanny will be full-charge. This is a position for a flexible Nanny who really likes to be part of the family and work on a team. The job is hybrid meaning there’s lots of childcare, but also cooking (making breakfast and packing school lunches and helping prep for dinner) and Assistant type duties, i.e. organization, errands, shopping etc … in addition to cleaning up after cooking and holding a general willingness to help the family with whatever needs come up. This is a position for a candidate who likes to jump in and do whatever it takes to keep a family humming like a well-oiled machine. We have a wonderful family who goes back and forth between Los Angeles and NY. They currently have a NY nanny and need to find their LA nanny!
The little girl is only one years old so we would like to find someone with toddler experience who is able to cook her meals and do light housekeeping. This little one is extremely active, never stops moving and was walking at 9 months old. It is very important that we find someone who is also active and athletic and in shape. We would love it if you are resourceful and are able to find activities and fun things to do when you are out of town with the family. When the family is in Los Angeles you will mostly be needed Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m or 9:00 a.m- 7:00 p.m. Family is very busy and needs a fully flexible nanny who is able to work with schedule changes and frequent travel. Dad works in entertainment and there may be long stretches in a foreign country or there may be a few weeks mom needs you to stay at their home in Hollywood. When traveling abroad or when dad is in LA and shooting a movie, you may be working 7 days a week. Please be ok with this. When the family is in NY, you will be managing the house, dealing with vendors, making sure there are supplies in the house, checking to make sure the Air conditioner is working, overseeing the landscapers and making sure everything is running smoothly.
