Position Overview
A private household with multiple residences in Manhattan, all located within walking distance, is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to join a collaborative and high-performing team. The environment is service-oriented and detail-driven, with a focus on maintaining a clean, sanitary, fun, and welcoming home for the Principal, staff, and guests. This is a team-based setting where professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude are essential.
The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of multiple residences. This individual will work closely with other team members to ensure all spaces are maintained to the highest standards and that day-to-day household operations run smoothly.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality work while contributing to a positive, team-oriented culture.
Key Responsibilities
Household Cleaning to Organization
· Perform a full range of cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing all assigned areas
· Maintain bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and living spaces to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
· Ensure all spaces remain orderly, organized, and guest-ready at all times
Laundry to Wardrobe Management
· Manage all aspects of household laundry, including washing, handwashing, steaming, ironing, and coordinating dry cleaning
· Perform minor clothing repairs as needed
· Maintain closets, drawers, and storage areas with a high level of organization
· Assist with packing and unpacking for travel as needed
Inventory to Household Supplies
· Monitor and maintain inventory of wardrobe, household supplies, including cleaning products, toiletries, and groceries
· Coordinate restocking and assist with errands as needed
Team Collaboration
· Work closely with household staff to coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient coverage across residences
· Contribute to a positive, team-oriented working environment
Maintenance to Reporting
· Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns
· Support proactive upkeep of the residences
Guest Interaction to Service
· Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests
· Respond to requests with discretion, efficiency, and a service-oriented mindset
Qualifications
· Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in a private home, luxury five-star hotel, or hospitality environment
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Comfortable using basic technology, including Apple iPhone and laptop, and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and household management tools (e.g., Glide)
· Experience with database entry systems or household management platforms preferred
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to complete tasks within established timeframes
· Adaptability and willingness to take on changing priorities and new responsibilities as needed
· Ability to move between multiple nearby residences throughout the day as needed
· High level of reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
· Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Fluent in English
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
· Comfortable with bending, stretching, walking stairs, and standing for extended periods
