Formal Family in Santa Barbara is looking for an Executive Housekeeper who has specialized knowledge caring for fine furniture. We would love to find someone who has great communication skills, professional demeanor and has the experience to train other staff. The job is typically Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family is only in town 1/3 of the year. There are no animals in the house but they do have another property close by that has animals. Family pays on the books and there are benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Property Appearance

– Daily interior cleaning of home (including heavy and light cleaning)
– Daily make beds and change linen (twice a week)
– Organise drawers and straighten closets
– Seasonal wardrobe management of Principals and Children (with Nanny support.)
– Maintain stock of routine cleaning and household supplies
– Care of Household Pets and plants
– Purchase of Weekly Flowers and Arrangement
– Laundry of all clothes/Dry cleaning management/Bedding
– Outdoor furniture upholstery cleaning/Pool furniture

Kitchen Maintenance

– Bi-weekly grocery shopping
– Pantry and Fridge Inventory and management of expired food
– Vitamin and Medicine Cabinet Inventory and Management
– Trash and Composte coordination
– Organisation of all kitchen equipment

Financial

– Ability to keep receipts and keep within a budget
– Record all expenditure to submit to Business Managers

Organisational, Communication and Time Management Skills

– Daily ability to clean house and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
– Co-ordination of Pet Groomers
– Co- Ordination of Car Valet service
– Contractor Management (Handymen, Gardeners and Vegetable/Rose Gardeners.)

This is a fun and warm family looking for an amazing executive housekeeper Monday, Wednesday and Friday 730- 330 or 800-400 . there are dogs and one teenager. You will be in charge of all the kids rooms/bathrooms and playrooms, all their laundry. If they are capable running errands would be awesome – but not required at all. The job is 90% cleaning and 10% keeping up with supplies, going to Target or to the market and seeing vendors. There’s a one year old baby girl in the house (with a hands on Mom and a full time Nanny) and you may VERY occasionally be asked to look after her, but this is not a Nanny job.
