Wonderful West Coast family is looking for TWO amazing Caretakers (ideally a working couple) for their idyllic EAST COAST home.  The owners (a family of five with three school-aged children) and their extended family & friends are in residence during the summer months and over the holidays, but there are many months (around nine, per year) when no one will be there.  You will be expected to work on some holidays, including Christmas & the Fourth of July. We are looking for people who can cook, clean and do all that it takes to maintain a property to the highest standards, and take proper care of guests.  Imagine you own a Bed & Breakfast and it’s your mission in life to create the best property on the planet.  You will shovel snow in the wintertime, make sure the wood has been chopped for the fireplace, do errands, clean the grill, go to the market, do laundry, run a guest to the airport, help pack, cook dinner — anything and everything to keep these homes in top-top shape and their inhabitants feel warm and embraced.  You already know or will research how often you need to flip the mattresses.  You will go to the roof after a storm to check that everything is okay.  You can inventory a house stem to stern, and write a killer home manual.  You know how to bring in extra help when you need it.  When guests pull up, you have the fire stoked, music playing and cookies in the oven.  You are happy to do the laundry, change the sheets and make sure everything is sparkling.  You don’t have to have ten years private service experience to be a star in this job.  It’s all about willingness and attitude, and this family is open to dealing with a learning curve. We are looking for people with good taste and a good sense of entertaining.  (Hello Martha Stewart!)  You need to know how to stock a pantry, and should know the difference between a dahlia and a peony.  You know how to cook farm to table food.  You don’t have to be a professional chef, but you can follow any recipe, throw a mean BBQ, you know what’s in season, and you should be comfortable cooking for up to 30 people.  You might be a writer or an artist,  and most of all — you are someone who is up for a very cool opportunity in a beautiful coastal town.
