Our client is a married couple in Westwood. The Husband (age 74) was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s and his needs are rapidly increasing. We are hoping to find a male caregiver who has previous experience dealing with a Parkinson’s patient. The typical schedule is M-F and full-time hours are offered, if necessary — though they can get by with around 6 hours per day (9am to 3pm-ish) if a candidate would prefer a lighter schedule. The ideal candidate is happy supporting the household in terms of light cleaning and simple healthy cooking. There’s a significant fall risk here — so finding someone who takes great care will be essential. There’s some medication management, plus driving to appointments, and encouraging exercise.
