The job is more than just cooking. This is a position for an experienced Chef with many years experience in a private setting under his/her belt who truly wants to be part of an incredible household. This is a salaried position (DOE TBD). There are no dietary restrictions. Chef will be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and serving depending on the number of guests and complexity of the menu. The home is more formal in feel and Chef should expect to wear a Chef’s coat when serving. There will be dinner parties and entertaining. Some weeks Chef will work 40 hours, M-F — some weeks will be more hours/days & some will be far less, i.e. when the Principals are out of town and Chef only needs to go in to make sure everything is in running order and vendors are taken care of. One of our favorite families needs a chef next week to cover for their regular chef who is out for a medical issue. It would be Monday, Wednesday, Friday (10/21, 10/23, 10/25.)

You will be cooking for Mom, Dad and the two daughters. Very healthy, but still yummy options. They just bulit a vegetable garden and are excited to cook fresh and local menus! Dad loves grain bowls/vegetarian drive, mom & the daughters are more into a classic combo of meat, carb and veggies.

Hours are usually arrive by 10am and depart around 5pm – ish.

The pay will be $250/day cash, DOE on your experience.

The family is having a new outdoor grill installed and they like all of their produce fresh from the farmers market and their seafood and meat from the best places. Their favorite restaurants are Spago, Madeo, and the family loves sushi. Fridays and Saturdays the family would like to entertain at their home and perhaps have some guests over. The same dinners but just for more people. Family will provide a salary, with paid time off and sick days. You will also have significant time off when the family travels to redo the pantry and the kitchen, fridge and get organized.

We are looking for a creative, experienced, warm and down to earth Chef who is excited to make family dinners, stock the pantry and fridge, as well as leave some lunch items, Monday-Thursday, 1-7pm.

The family loves to stay on the healthier side but still loves their steak and potatoes in addition to farro salads with roasted salmon. One of the children is gluten and diary free. They love to have fresh produce from the farmers market and appreciate menus created based on what is in season. Dinner is usually served around 6:30pm and they will be so appreciative for you to stay and clean up. They like to have dinner family style as it is the parents and children all eating together.

This client would love a Chef who is super comfortable and experienced in a family home setting. We would love to see any culinary school and some interesting California cuisine restaurants on your resume in addition to at least one Private Chef position. If you are open to also helping with Carpool for the kids, that would be a huge plus!

The typical day starts at noon where you will prepare food for the staff, and then start dinner service.

Terrific couple in Tarzana would like to hire a Chef twice a week — ideally Monday & Thursday or Monday & Friday. Chef markets and comes to the house, cooks/plates lunch and leaves food for the next few days. Husband is allergic to dairy, wife is allergic to fish and they keep kosher so generally speaking, the food is simple, clean & of course delicious! Typically proteins, unlimited vegetables, soups and salads — no pasta, bread or starch. They go out to eat once or twice a week, but Chef prepares the rest of the food for the week.
