We are helping a family in Orange, NJ find a wonderful candidate who is a former RN or aide, that is as well as a family manager. The mother (who is in her mid 60s) has had some health challenges the last few years, and her family would like to find someone who can get her life back on track. The mother has a strong personality, so someone who can manage this with kindness, firmness and grace is the ideal candidate. Once this happens, you would begin your role as their family manager. You will manage all things home related, but also help her children with small tasks as it relates to their mother. You will continue to oversee and manage the mother’s appointments, doctors, etc. This role also requires travel to Florida. You have to be flexible to travel to Miami for up to 6 months in a calendar year. The position is primarily M-F, full time at the clients home. We are looking for a kind and gentle person to be the right hand person to an older gentleman and his wife in Santa Monica. We are looking for someone who is steady, responsive, and resourceful.

You be covering for the person in the role who is taking time off to visit family!

The role is Monday-Friday, usually 8:30am – 4:30 5pm. You will work with the husband to help with his wife’s daily routines. She has Alzheimer’s. It’s the day to day, meals, medications, companionship, assisting with ADLs, taking her to doctor’s appointment’s and communication with the husband. The assistant will need to be comfortable with computer skills as you will writing emails on the couple’s behalf.

Responsibilities include grocery shopping and preparing healthy lunches and dinners for the couple. There is some light housekeeping and you will run errands when needed: dry cleaning, picking up prescriptions, etc.

The perfect caregiver must be organized and self directing and be an excellent communicator! You will get to know all the vendors the houses need and If something in the house needs fixing, you will be responsible for this being done. A flexible person who has compassion and patience will go a long way. The wife Alzheimer’s and will benefit greatly from someone who understands this and the progression that may be to come.

Caregivers with patience and heart needed for brilliant man living with Dementia in Hancock Park

Our wonderful client is in need for compassionate, patient, kind and interesting to talk to caregivers. He lives in his adult daughter’s back house to be close to family. However the daughter is a busy working professional, as is her husband, and kids are busy in school.

So we are looking to fill day shifts during the week and weekend, to get Grandpa the love and care he deserves!

The shifts will start with 8 hours a day, but could increase to 10-12 hours a day as his dementia gets harder. Please let us know which days you are able to work.

The family also has a large, friendly, dog so please be comfortable with a busy family environment as Grandpa does go to the main house for meals and family time.

We would love to find someone that enjoys playing board games, taking Grandpa out to interesting lunches, being able to take notes at a doctor’s appointment, make him simple and healthy meals, tidy up the back house and be a responsible, reliable caregiver the whole family can count on.
