“I just completed a renovation of my house on Broad Beach in Malibu. I’m looking for someone whom I could hire as a house manager. Someone to manage and coordinate the schedule/payment for my housekeeper/pool cleaner/gardener, take in packages that arrive, and rush over to the house in the middle of the night if the alarm goes off (which I doubt will happen very often!). I would love someone with the flexibility to do grocery shopping and turn the pool heat on if we plan to come out, take care of issues with neighbors etc, since I’m a pretty private person. Generally be responsibly for the upkeep of the house (taking stock of the house for leaks/dead plants, lights not working, plumbing) being proactive about fixing them. This is definitely not a full-time job, this person should be able to do this for several properties, and add mine to their slate. I’m hoping to pay about $1000 a week. Groundskeeper and Handyman for Coolest Respectful Creative Family Historic Home on the Eastside

Amazing client needs a wonderful Groundskeeper and Handyman to help manage this historic and gorgeous property. We are looking for a candidate with a great Houseman background!

Handyman Role:
This person needs to be a handy person, who can handle cleaning up the property, support the gardening crew, covers the outdoor furniture at night before going home, fixes things around the house, hanging artwork, caulking, seals up windows, fix doors, paint touch ups, etc. Positive, communicative and team-oriented personality needed.

You will work an 8-hour day Monday-Friday. Overtime payment if you are needed to work on a weekend if there is an urgent event.

There is always something to repair on this property as the home is 101 years old this year.

Groundskeeping Role:
Following daily and weekly/monthly/annual to-do list: restarting cable boxes, caring for chickens on property, mild gardening like leaf blowing, removing cobwebs, cleaning wine cellar, moving furniture/boxes, figuring out why Apple TV doesn’t work, dealing with the fridge making weird noise, washing exterior windows, car washing, dusting off outdoor furniture, testing appliances, be main-point person for the troubleshooting property lighting and irrigation, water heater in guest house is leaking, replace light fixtures, trips to Hardware stores and Animal feed store, cleaning rain gutters, re-staining front door, etc.

On top of troubleshooting/fixing general things that come up. Someone that can maintain positive communication and report to the house manager but also take their own initiative. Additional occasional travel to and handyman/groundskeeping for the second property in Oxnard.

It would be the groundskeeper’s responsibility to update and alert house manager of more in-depth repairs or projects for both properties

Salary $35-40 an hour + Benefits. 

The person must be vaccinated for Covid, fluent in English, have a clear background – huge plus if you are Bilingual in Spanish and own a Truck/SUV Vehicle preferred.

Amazing Estate Manager position available in the Palisades

This is a full time and very hands-on position. You will be required to run and maintain two beautiful properties. We are looking for someone who is a self starter, who excels at making sure everything runs smoothly, and wants to create a peaceful and seamless environment. Your responsibility is for the interior, exterior and grounds associated with each residence; as well as upkeep, maintenance and amenities that fall within their borders.

You will demonstrate leadership and oversee management of the home’s internal team of staff, delegate and manage tasks, (housekeepers, dog sitters, gardeners and management of vendors), scheduling, formulate maintenance schedules, coordinate and supervise contractors, and maintain all estate records and files. You will also be responsible for the financial management across multiple properties: handling of invoices, billing and payment coordination with CPA.

It is very important for you to anticipate the clients every need from: stocking each home, running errands, car maintenance, calendar management, guest reception and concierge services. Impeccable organization skills, discretion and a service oriented mindset are key. Candidates should also be pet friendly.

The estate manager position is for someone who is at the top of their field, as it will require a great deal of work and lots of expertise. A superior knowledge of household systems (HVAC, electrical, smart home systems, current high tech security and camera systems, familiarity in high-end home renovation projects. etc.) are key. You will need to be technologically savvy regarding LV & AV Systems, as well as computer literate with Apple operating systems (word, exel, power point, etc,). Also, a background in asset management would be extremely helpful and beneficial to this position. Only applicants with a minimum 10 – 15 years experience with outstanding current references.

We are only hiring long term applicants, looking for an 8 – 10 year commitment minimum. 🙂 but seriously, they would love someone that wants to stay a long time!

HOURS:
Monday – Friday 8 Hour Day (8 – 4, 8:30 – 4:30 or 9 – 5)
