A warm, busy dual-income family with three young children is in need of a highly experienced house manager cook to join their household team. Both parents keep long hours professionally, and the household runs at full speed — three kids going in different directions, a nanny, and a housekeeper already in place. The person who held this role for eight years is retiring, and they are looking for someone just as dedicated to step in seamlessly. She has been living in the family home, ( it has a separate wing and separate entrance, in case you prefer a live -in position ). She has been somewhat of an aunt to the family – or a wife (so to speak) and has raised the kids since the first was born. She had an equal love for cooking and household oversight. The ideal candidate is either a house manager who loves to cook or a talented cook who thrives on running a well-organized home. Either way, you are equally comfortable at the stove and at the helm.

you will:

Plan and prepare daily family meals, snacks, and special occasions — healthy, family-friendly food (simple)

Manage all household vendors: scheduling, vetting, overseeing work quality, and maintaining relationships

Coordinate the household staff (nanny, housekeeper) to keep daily operations smooth

Maintain the organization and flow of an 11,000 sq ft private residence

Handle grocery shopping, pantry management, and household supply ordering

Support family logistics as needed — school pickups, errands, event prep

Anticipate needs and keep everything running proactively, not reactively

What we’re looking for

Proven experience managing a large private estate (10,000plus sq ft strongly preferred)

Genuine love of cooking — comfortable preparing nourishing, varied meals for a family with young children

Strong vendor management and contractor coordination skills

Calm, organized, and unflappable in a fast-moving household

Warm and trustworthy around young children

Excellent communicator with a proactive, service-oriented mindset

Verifiable references from long-term private household positions

Compensation

Our client is a warm, active family with three little boys, ages 2, 5, and almost 9, and weekends are becoming busy! The family is currently living in Brentwood and plans to return to the Palisades later this summer. They are looking for an extra set of hands on either Saturdays or Sundays to help keep the weekends running smoothly and allow Mom and Dad to spend more one-on-one time with each child.

Most of the time, you will be tag-teaming with the parents and primarily focused on the family’s energetic two-year-old. It is rare that you would be responsible for all three children at once. The boys are high-energy, active, and always on the move, so we’re looking for someone engaging, upbeat, and able to keep pace with a busy household.

This position is paid via payroll and offers a guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per week. The family is open to either Saturday or Sunday coverage, so if you are only available one of those days, please still reach out. Ideally, they would love someone who can offer flexibility between the two days when needed. They would also be thrilled to find someone available for the occasional weekday afternoon.

Hours will vary depending on the family’s schedule and activities. Some days may begin and end early, while others could run from the afternoon into the evening if the parents are heading out. The family is flexible and understanding and hopes to find someone who can offer flexibility in return.

Candidates should have experience with children ages 2 and up, an excellent background report, and glowing references.

Arrival: Please arrive 5 minutes early for shift handover.

General Responsibilities

Provide attentive, respectful, and professional care while ensuring the client’s comfort, safety, and daily routine are maintained. Support household needs as required and maintain clear communication during shift changes.

Daily Duties
Morning
Review daily schedule and appointments.
Check and record blood pressure at the start of the shift and continue monitoring hourly.
Assist with breakfast and morning medications.
Offer tea and approved medications supplements as requested.
Encourage short walks if the client feels well.

Meals to Household Support
Assist with meal preparation and cleanup.
Offer rest or quiet activities after lunch.
Perform light housekeeping duties, especially in the kitchen area.
Respect the client’s privacy while remaining available when assistance is needed.

Afternoon to Evening
Assist with personal care and showering if requested.
Administer scheduled medications on time.
