Rota Nanny Needed in the Palisades: We have a ROTA opening for a Nanny with toddler experience who likes to keep busy! Our client has three kiddos — a boy in early elementary, and 3 y o twins who will be starting pre-school in September. The family has a team of two Nannies who rotate four days on and four days off. One week, you work Monday through Thursday, and the next week — the schedule will be bumped up a day — and so on. This means each Nanny will have some weekends off — some weekends, each Nanny will work one day, and some weeks, one Nanny will end up covering both weekend days, and will have two consecutive weekdays off. The family travels about 11 times a year, and 2-3 of the trips are international, so this is a position for a Nanny who loves to travel and is able to travel in and out of the country. The typical hours are 11:00am to 7:30 8:00pm on the weekend days, and 7:00am-7:00pm on the weekend days, with a 40 hour per week guarantee. There is a full-time Housekeeper, but the Nannies are expected to help keep the house tidy, especially while the kids are in school. Also of note — the family has a large dog, so applicants should be pet friendly. This is a position for a Nanny who enjoys traveling, is a team player, and can be FLEXIBLE. We have some big shoes to fill here, so we are looking for a super special candidate who genuinely enjoys being with tweens and teens. This is a busy yet laid-back house in which loyalty is appreciated. There is a Nanny car for use on-the-job, and lots of driving required, so your driving record will be scrutinized! There’s also one big doggie who has a dog-walker, but can always use a little extra TLC so please be pet-friendly too. Duties in this home run the gamut from supervising homework and helping with light cooking, to keeping the house stocked, marketing — and so much more. There are two Housekeepers on the staff, but help with tidying is also important, as is the ability to house-sit while the family is away. There is less hands-on childcare to perform now that the children are older, but plenty to do to stay busy! We want one that has excellent English, has worked in large scale houses before and has at least 15 years of experience with higher profile clients.
Our home is large with lots of stairs – we need someone who is high energy and capable for a house this size with three floors.
House space is 10,000 plus square feet but mostly it is just my husband and myself and two golden retrievers.
Family comes in and out here and there. We have found one housekeeper can easily manage this house full time.
If need be we throw in a service at times when necessary if she would like some help, especially after large events.
There is a wonderful team to help – from handy man and window cleaners to other helpers when necessary.
We would love someone that is prompt and proud that is looking for a stable and kind family.
We send a lot to the cleaners – laundry is a necessity but not heavy.
We have VERY LITTLE ironing to do.
We like someone who is self sufficient knows what they are doing and does it well.
We want someone with a cheery disposition who gets along with others.
Folding clothes well and organization skills needed.
We would love someone that loves to make a beautiful bed!
We have two dogs – sweet. We need someone comfortable with dogs.

This assistant will report into him, you will also assist his wife, and help them manage things for their children and household. You’ll work closely with their beloved nanny and housekeeper, and enjoy being around their adorable two children.

You will be in charge of calendar management, vendors, ad hoc research projects, extensive and detailed travel itineraries, finding the best summer activities for their children, and general assistance to keep their lives running smoothly. You take pride in catching every detail, keeping your bosses lives organized with meticulous calendar and digital archiving and love being the right hand to busy and lovely people.

Some weeks you might be needed to work 50 hours a week, other weeks it could be much less. You will be paid a salary based on 50 hours a week, and earn OT if needed, over 50 hours a week. This client is fair, and generous. While they will not bother you every day at 3am, if they are traveling, or a pipe bursts, something that is time sensitive, they would like to be able to reach you 24 7. Likely it might be about once a month when odd hours are needed, for example, if they are flying internationally, they would like for you to track their flights and make sure everything runs smoothly when checking into their hotel.
