Family Assistant Hybrid Nanny Role in Manhattan Beach

A darling family in Manhattan Beach is looking for a fantastic Family Assistant to support their home and two super fun girls, entering 3rd and 5th grade. This is a hybrid role—part family assistant, part big-sister-camp-counselor nanny—and it’s perfect for someone upbeat, responsible, and looking for a warm, collaborative household.

Both parents work (dad travels weekly, mom every six weeks), so flexibility is important, including the ability to stay overnight occasionally when their travel overlaps. The family is incredibly kind and values someone who can be their “boots on the ground” during the week.

Duties include:
• Driving the girls (they attend school in Palos Verdes)
• Preparing kid-friendly dinners
• Sorting mail and keeping clutter in check
• Light laundry and organization
• Running errands and handling Amazon returns
• Packing unpacking for trips
• Managing the Google calendar and staying ahead of daily needs

The ideal candidate is a warm, proactive person with a “no job too big or small” attitude. Their current nanny—who has been with them for six years—is getting married and leaving a role she loved. The parents deeply appreciate her flexibility, reliability, and ability to keep the household running smoothly while they’re working.

You should be tech-savvy, organized, and someone who naturally thinks a few steps ahead. A detail-oriented approach and strong communication skills are essential.

Schedule:
• Monday to Thursday: 12pm–7pm
• Tuesday to Wednesday: 12pm–8pm
• Friday: 12pm–6pm
• Occasional later evenings or overnights as needed
• 30–40 hours week guaranteed (depending on your preference)

Compensation:
• $32 hour off-the-books
• $150 per overnight
• Paid sick days
• Use of a nanny car while on duty

Grandma lives nearby and is very involved and helpful.

We are looking for someone who is fluent in English, a self-starter, passionate about organizing and helping the family with a variety of tasks relating to housekeeping.    This is a busy but very varied role, you will primarily be based in OC with occasional time spent in LA, flexibility is essential. 
You will work as part of a team of two housekeepers and will be required to take direction but also work as a team.  You will report directly to the principal.
