This wonderful private couple in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Full-Time Housekeeper to support their 4,800 sq. ft. residence. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in maintaining high standards, works efficiently, and communicates clearly. Responsibilities include full-charge housekeeping, daily and deep cleaning throughout the home, proactive upkeep, and comprehensive laundry care for clothing, linens, and specialty fabrics, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and steaming. The housekeeper will also maintain orderly closets, cabinets, pantry, and storage areas, establish efficient household systems, monitor supplies, and anticipate the household’s needs. Light meal preparation and comfort working in the kitchen are highly appreciated, along with support for entertaining, including pre- and post-event resets and occasional late evenings.
The schedule is either Monday through Friday with overlap alongside the current housekeeper and some weekend availability. Or a part tine schedule that would be Thursday through Sunday schedule, with standard hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates must manage time efficiently and complete tasks within scheduled hours. The home includes an older German Shepherd, so comfort around dogs is required. The role requires the ability to work on one’s feet for extended periods, navigate a multi-level home, perform repetitive cleaning tasks, and lift up to approximately 30 lbs.

The family has 4 children, although your primary responsibility will be with the 1 year old and 7 year old. They have a lead nanny that will travel with them and do all overnights. The lead nanny will make your schedule, so you will receive it one month in advance. You are primarily there as support to her and helping out at the home – bath time, making dinner, overseeing homework and putting the littles to bed. You will be guaranteed 40 hours per week, but you might work less! The hours will be either in the morning as extra support or in the afternoon to early evenings. They already have housekeepers and laundry help, but missing someone who is truly focused on home maintenance, organization, and overall upkeep — the person who notices what needs to be done and just takes care of it. They moved into their home about three months ago and have had quite a few issues, so this role would include coordinating with plumbers and other vendors, meeting them at the house, helping manage repairs, and eventually assisting with remodel-related tasks.

Day to day, this person would help with things like pantry inventory, ordering and stocking household items, breaking down boxes, light tidying, trash management, and supporting on laundry days. It’s very much an A-to-Z role — helping wherever needed, keeping things organized, and making sure the house runs smoothly. Kids will often be around in the afternoons, so comfort working in a family environment is important.

There’s also potential for some household admin support (travel planning, scheduling, setting up summer camps), but that’s a bonus — not a requirement. They are looking for someone who is naturally proactive, takes ownership, and doesn’t need to be asked for every task. Ideally, this is someone who treats the home like their own, enjoys jumping in.

This role would start part-time, around 20–32 hours per week, ideally 3 full weekdays, with flexibility. Weekday hours are preferred, with occasional evening or event help if available. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. They are looking for a long-term fit — someone who wants to grow with the household and truly be a steady, reliable presence.
